Daddy, We Had a Good Day…

Melissa was out of town for a day recently. Emma and I kept ourselves busy after school. Among other things, we danced–We took turns dancing to music from the Ipad(Emma loves the Ipad and plays many games on it). One of us would dance while the other watched and clapped afterwards. Emma loves to watch her Stay at home Daddy dance!!! After that we played Wii. We played the Disney Princess game as well as the Mario Winter Olympics. We had dinner and then settled down for the evening before bed. The main reason for this post is because while I was reading Emma a book in bed, she looked …Read more […..]

The Big Boys! “Can I Tell You Something?” Privacy While in Bathroom..

Emma has become good friends with the boys down the street. There are 2 boys, Evan and Ethan, that are a year older than her as well as a boy, Nathan, that is a year younger then her. They live down the street and love to come to our cul-de-sac where they can ride their bikes, their motorized cars, and scooters with her. It is so funny to watch them playing because Emma leads the way with the puppy dog boys following along. When they are at their house and Emma is in our front yard, they are constantly yelling messages back and forth. The little guy, Nathan, is the most vocal and aggressive about …Read more […..]

Bye Bye Yoda, Daddy Will You Stay Here with Me Forever?, Wisconsin for 9 Days!, VBS

I often think about how fast time flies but it really hit home hard recently with the passing of my cat of 17+ years, Yoda. Emma brushing Yoda about a week before he died.                                                                   Me holding Yoda 1994 Seems like another completely different life when I got that cute little furball! I was single and lived in my own house all by myself until I got him. He was a constant companion and I brought him everywhere in those early days. He was a playful and energetic cat …Read more […..]

“Mommie, Why Can’t I Have a Real Car? I Want A Real Car”, Field Trip To Cosley Zoo, School Picnic!

Emma has really loved driving her Barbie Mustang since she got it. She brings her toys and stuffed animals in with her and rocks out to the “radio” that her car has. She has become quite a good little driver and recently said to Melissa, “Mommy, why can’t I have a real car? I want a real car like yours.” Too funny! We told her she has to wait another ten years and she said she doesn’t want to. Emma’s preschool had another field trip to the Cosley zoo and I volunteered to be the Chaperone. I had the privilege to drive Emma and her BFF Avery to the zoo. It was fun watching …Read more […..]

Emma’s New Mustang! Stye on her Eye! Avery has a TV in her room-Can I have one in my room?

Emma received her own car for her 5th Birthday! Her aunts Lina and Mary bought her a new Barbie Mustang Powerwheels car! She really likes it and is becoming quite the driver! I like it too because it keeps her busy for a while although I am always on the watch making sure no cars are coming on the streets near our cul de sac as she zooms in a big circle around our driveway and part of the street. I still have to drill into her head the importance of always looking both ways before entering the street since we still have a bunch of cars coming down our small dead end street and making …Read more […..]

Emma with Flu for a week, getting so good at Wii, Little, not Yittle, Wisconsin not consin

Emma was home sick all week and it was rough. It is times like these that I can really understand how much I appreciate the free time, little as it is, that I have when she is in preschool. She kept me busy and handled it really well. She watched TV, played with her dolls &  played her Wii. She is really getting very good at the Wii and I am impressed! Emma recently changed the way she says a couple words. Gone are the cute ways that she said them…She no longer says Yiddle but says little and she no longer calls Wisconsin Consin. So cute to see her growing up! …Read more […..]

Mrs Koshmann visits! “Daddy, You Walk Like This” “I’m Telling You” Snuggler in The Morning

Well, it is that time of year! Summer is ending and preschool is about to start! Just like last year Mrs. Koschmann came to the house to visit and meet with Emma. Unlike last year Emma knows her very well and talked to her from the start! 🙂 It is also different than last year because we know what to expect and feel extremely confident and secure in knowing that Emma will have her for her teacher this year. I remember the nervous trepidation I felt last year and am grateful that this year will be easy! One of Emma’s new sayings is one that makes fun of her Daddy. Out of the blue Emma said to …Read more […..]

“Let’s Go Check It Out” “It Is Hilarious” “Mommy, I want a Hamburger”

As Emma and I were playing outside–riding bikes–we smelled a funky odor. Realizing that it was garbage day I observed a dark stain on the street that the garbage truck had left for us..Yuck! I told Emma where I thought the smell was coming from and she stated, “Let’s go check it out.” A very cute quote! Of course we went over and she wanted to keep looking at the stain and even rode over it. Another funny quote that Emma said was when we were playing and she found something–what it was I forget–funny. She stated,”It is Hilarious.” Not sure where she picked this up from but it was very cute! Another …Read more […..]

Swim Lessons, New Words/Phrases

Emma has been going to swim lessons at the park district with Melissa. There were a couple occasions when i had to fill in . A memorable one was her 2nd class when I was told that Emma was mistakenly put in the wrong class the previous week. Well, the instructor for the new class was nowhere near as personable as the previous week’s instructor. Granted, these are teenage girls but this new one had a class(class is not a great description as there are only 4-5 kids in each group) of all boys a tad bit older then Emma and this girl obviously had an affinity for little boys than little girls. Well, …Read more […..]

Da Beet! Dance, Dance, Dance, Am I “Gay”?

One of the cutest sayings that Emma has been using is Da Beet! She calls her feet beet. LOl. When I ask her if she wants her socks on she says Da Beet! Emma is a dancing fool just like me! I know I am no Fred Astaire but at least I try to show her how to do it! She loves to start one of the many, many, toys she has that plays music. She then proceeds to twirl around and around. Its the funny thing she does with her eyes that takes the cake. She keeps her eyes looking in the opposite direction that she is spinning. If she is spinning clockwise then her eyes are are looking all the way counter …Read more […..]
