Uncle Jeff & Auntie Jo, Wake Up Daddy, Its Christmastime, Christmas Parties, Santa Was Here! Aminals

It has been about 5 months since Emma has seen my Uncle Jeff and his wife Jo. The last time she saw them she loved Jo but wouldn’t go by Jeff although she did start to play Peek with him from a distance. They came over and spent a nice evening with us recently. At first Emma was leery of Jeff and, of course, was immediately receptive to Jo. It didn’t take long however, for her to warm up to Jeff. At first, while Melissa & I talked with Jeff, Emma kidnapped Jo and took her into the living room to play. After awhile we all ended up in the same room at which time Emma kidnapped …Read more […..]

Oh Nooooooo, Santa! More Parties! Choo Choo Train

When something goes wrong, even something very minor, Emma has recently been saying, “Ohhhh Nooooooo…..” It is funny how she says it. She says it in an exaggerated manner as if she is overly concerned–too funny! We went to 3 Christmas parties over the weekend, all on Saturday. The first party was a company family Christmas event that featured many attractions such as elves that painted faces and made cool candy cane balloons, crafts, karaoke, a train ride, and, of course, Santa Claus! Now, last year Emma was deathly afraid of Santa and cried when Melissa brought her by him. This year Emma …Read more […..]

Happy Thanksgiving! Snow!! “I Don’t Need You Daddy and I Don’t Need Momma, I’m a Big Girl”, Abonabo, The Bodeepot

Thanksgiving was busy, busy, busy! Emma got to go to Grandma & grandpa’s and played with her cousins Lauren & Nicole. She really loves Lauren since she is younger than Nicole. I think Lauren is about 8 or 9 and Nicole is 13. Emma kept Nicole busy that is for sure! Emma also got to “play” with her 95(I think) year old Bucia. Funny how she has always been attracted to her…Maybe because she sees her as somewhat of a child? Bucia loved it too! Watching her, she looks at Emma with a wonderment that rivals my own! Even at that age, she seems to be reliving her own childhood. After Grandma …Read more […..]

Birthday Party, Lion Returns, Thoughts on Sitters & Lack Thereof

Yesterday we went to Taylor’s birthday party. It was great because Emma got to not only see her cousin but was able to touch and attempt to hold some bunnies(bundies). I’ve added several pics of her feeding the bunnies hay. She has always loved bunnies, especially the Easter Bunny who she gets to see in person every year! The last week has been a definite challenge for me as I have felt antsy and anxious. I call it the lion in a cage feeling. I am not sure that anyone can relate to this but I have a feeling that Dads that stay at home definitely could. I believe that men are not naturally …Read more […..]

2nd Bday Party! Happy! Look What I Can Do! Sick…:(

Emma turned 2 on March 27th! Her 2nd birthday was very nice even though Melissa and I were under the weather. We had a pretty good turnout for the party. Melissa’s entire family, both sides, showed up as they usually do. 1 Cousin and 2 aunts could not make it. Even her 2 grandmothers, one 88 and virtually deaf and hardly able to walk, and the other 96 and suffering from Alzheimers made it. They are true to their family and it is admirable. My parents, 2 sisters and families, and some members of my “new” family came. My “new” family is also very true to their family! They …Read more […..]

I Can Do It, My Mommie! Mini Waffles, Poppy

Today, Emma turned 2. Where did the time go? Seems like yesterday she was not able to crawl or walk but was scooching around on her but–and boy could she scooch! She got a giant happy face balloon and a giant number 2 balloon. She loves her boons! And, the best was yet to come after dinner. The chocolate(Hatten) cupcakes with the white frosting were the perfect treat for a little princess. She made quite a mess. Whoever coined the term “terrible twos” knew what they were talking about. The little stinker is truly an independent thinker. She wants to do things by herself now and lets us know …Read more […..]

Party time, How I got here, Mom goes back to work

The last couple days were fun party days. Emma loves parties and had lots of fun! The first party was a holiday party with Melissa’s friends–my friends too! Emma got to play with Alisha, Daniel, and Lauren. She had lots of fun running in the hallways of the golf club with the other “big” girls. She also liked to grab 21 yr old Britney’s hand and drag her around. The waitresses loved Emma and she seems to brighten every one’s face who she comes in contact with. She didn’t like when Bob picked her up when she didn’t want him to. She cried and actually had tears and when he put her …Read more […..]

Bosingpot, Cinderelli, Nonnie(Lobleeee), Sleepover with Mary & Sylvana! Pure Exhaustion & Help or Lack of…

So, Emma’s word has changed from bodeepot to bosingpot. We can’t figure out where she got this word but she mentions elfs–maybe from the movie Elf? She uses this word lots like it is a real thing…Too funny! Emma has really become quite fond of the movie Cinderella. The fact that she has several dolls of the princess adds to her enjoyment of it. She plays with her dolls and Cinderella is usually in the middle of the action “talking” to the other dolls. Some of the other dolls include newer favorites Jasmine, Snow White, and two different Ariel dolls. We were recently up at the lake house …Read more […..]

Navy Pier, Happy New Year! Birthday Party!

We took Emma to Navy Pier for the Christmas extravaganza. We met Doug and his family that includes 3 boys ages 1,5 and 8. Well, it was very cool even for me. So many lights and Christmas decorations as well as so many things for kids to do. Emma rode on the train with Melissa, rode the Merry Go Round a couple times but her favorite thing was to play in the ball tent and candy cane tunnel areas. She played with Adam, age 5, in this area and when the time was up for her group of kids to leave she was the last one to leave–actually Melissa had to get her out, lol. There was also a magic show …Read more […..]
